Backyard Adventures: Cafe Chew

In the Kitchen
Cafe Chew - Sandwich MA | Appetite for Life

I love that this little gem is less than a 5-minute drive from my house. When I need a break from work, need a coffee, or just want to get out for lunch, this is one of my go-to stops.

Breakfast

If you want to go there for breakfast, they have got you covered. You can order something simple like toast or yogurt, to a full-on breakfast of pancakes or even an omelet.

Their breakfast plates are what you want for a Saturday or Sunday brunch. How does sitting down to the Cajun Breakfast platter filled with eggs, spicy black beans, andouille sausage, and a corn muffin? Or what about the Smoked Salmon Platter - everything you need to make a decadent smoked salmon bagel, including red onion, capers, tomatoes, and cream cheese? If the platters can't tempt you, you can put together your own combination.

Personally, I love their breakfast sandwiches. You can get them filled with Vermont cheddar cheese, eggs, bacon, caramelized onions, brie, spinach, chipotle mayo, and the list goes on and on. These don't just come on English muffins. They come on ciabatta, pretzel, telera rolls, or sourdough toast. You can even get The Hippie, a whole wheat wrap filled with eggs, veggies, and cheese.

Lunch

Let's not forget that Cafe Chew is known for its lunch sandwiches. They have your classics like Turkey, Ham & Gruyere, Chicken Salad, and Tuna, but they also have grilled paninis, of which I love the Tuscan filled with melted mozzarella cheese, tomato, red pepper puree, and pesto!

If you really want to dive in, they have a fantastic collection of specialty sandwiches, including the Bavarian (Fresh ham and creamy Brie with thinly sliced Granny Smith apples, baby spinach, and cranberry chutney on a soft Bavarian pretzel roll), the Forager (Goat cheese and roasted portabella mushrooms with fire-roasted red pepper puree, tomato, baby spinach and balsamic vinaigrette on a telera roll ) and of course being New England the Pilgrim (Fresh roasted turkey with sage stuffing, cranberry mayo and lettuce on cranberry-pecan bread).

Sometimes you aren't in the mood for a sandwich, so they have soups and incredible salads to choose from too.

This is a perfect stop for anyone with a grumbling stomach passing through Sandwich. Even if you grab a cup of coffee and a muffin, you will still want to come back for more.
