Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters - Sandwich

Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters in Sandwich is one of my favorite weekday treats.

It is a year-round cafe (which is important when you live on Cape Cod), that has an industrial feel on the inside that is still warm and inviting. The people are also great. They are there with a smile, greeting, and ready with coffee in hand.

I go to the cafe in Sandwich because it is right down the street from my house. Their original location is in Brewster. They also have a coffee bar open seasonally and at the holidays in Chatham.

As the name says, they roast their own coffee and are nuts about its sourcing and preparation. All the beans are sourced from small growers and cooperatives that focus on sustainable farming methods. Then in the cafes, they are carefully prepared. You will see beans being made into espresso beverages, brewed using the pour-over method, or a traditional drip coffee.

The Food Are Real Treats

Ok, you have your coffee craving satisfied. What to go with it?

As you can see from my picture, I got a sampling to have with my coffee and share, of course. Listen to these options:

  • Sundried Tomato Biscuit

  • Habanero Lime Scone - really not hot at all, just delicious

  • Egg and Bacon Empanada

Great, right? Well, their flavor matched their creativity. I loved each in its own way. The Empanada was a great twist on the breakfast sandwich.

The real surprise was the Habanero Lime Scone. I didn't know what to expect. The scone itself had a tiny bit of chili, but most of the flavor came from the glaze. It was limey, sweet, and spicy—perfect in every way.

If you are in the Sandwich or Brewster area, I highly recommend stopping by for a coffee and a treat. You won't be disappointed.

About Me

Hi!  I'm Jen

Cooking is a passion passed down from both of my grandmothers to my mother and then to my sister and me.

Throughout my career, I was always drawn back to food.  I've learned from experienced chefs, apprenticed with professional bakers, and tasted coffee with international experts.

Today I'm sharing those experiences with you.
