Holiday 2025 Gift Ideas Guide
Throughout the year, you ask me for recommendations not only for recipe ideas or variations but also for products I use.
This year is my first year compiling some of them into my Holiday 2025 Gift Ideas guide, to help generate ideas for people on your list.
If you order from these links, I receive a small commission that does not affect your price. It does allow me to keep my website and other things advertisement free so thanks from everyone in advance!
I've collected ideas from large to small items. I have more, so if you see something here that sparks a question, feel free to reach out and maybe I have a recommendation.
Books
Here are a few of my favorite books, all with cooking in mind:
My Life In France - by Julia Child & Alex Prud-Homme
This book is a charming story about the years leading up to and developing Mastering the Art of French Cooking and the PBS television series The French Chef. I love reading this book, and then watching the old series to see what I notice from the book. 🤓
Here's a secret...I read A Year In Provence every summer! I love how Peter Mayle tells his story of moving to Provence and the adventures they have. It always inspires my wanderlust (wanting to travel).
52 Loaves is a random book, but if you like making bread, it is a fun and interesting read. The author explores how to make the perfect sourdough bread by making bread every week for a year. During the process, he visits places, builds a bread oven, and so much more
If you or someone you are looking to get a gift for likes food and history, you will love A Bite-Sized History of France. It is written by a cheesemonger and an American academic and explores the food legends and origins of some of our French food favorites.
Essential Cookware
Here are some of the pots and pans I swear by and use every day. I realize some are expensive, but they honestly will last a lifetime. For example, I burned a sauce recently in one of my All-Clad pots, and after soaking it came clean as new.
This is the All-Clad Set I started out with and use consistently today. When I turned 30, I decided it was time to invest in a cooking set that would last me, and this has. The size of the pots and pans are perfect for most everyday cooking and soup making. It is also the best way to purchase a bunch of pans.
If you aren't looking for a full set, I would suggest either this All-Clad 12-inch Skillet with the lid (which is slightly bigger than the one in the set). It is perfect not just for sauteeing things but also for cooking one-pot dishes because you can put them from the stovetop into the oven.
Let's move on to cast iron. I swear by the Lodge Brand, and over the years have collected several different sizes. This Lodge 10-inch Cast Iron Skillet will do it all and can go in the oven or the grill! It comes pre-seasoned and instructions to keep it at its best. For under $20, this is a great gift.
This Chicago Metal Baking Tray or Sheet Pan, is my go to for all the baking I do. I have three that have made thousands of cookies over the years. I like them because they aren't non-stick so I don't have to worry about any health issues for non-stick pans, and they are heavy duty so they stand the test of time.
Gadgets and What Not
Here are other essentials I swear by.
Mason Jars are my go-to for everything from storing things in my fridge, freezer, and shelves. I love them because you can use them over and over for so many different things. 16 ounce are a perfect middle size, but you could do small 8 ounce or large 32 ounce. These also make good containers for gifts.
This Good Grips Spatula is perfect for flipping burgers or pancakes, taking cookies off a baking sheet, or cooking English Muffins on the griddle. I like this spatula because it is strong and doesn't bend. I have also used mine to scrape pans because it is so strong.
I love all three sizes of these Strainers. I use the large size for pasta or rice. The medium size is for straining sauces, and the small size is for dusting powdered sugar over baked goods. These aren't the only uses but they may get the wheels turning for someone on your list.
The Escali Baking Scale is a new addition to my kitchen. After using another scale but getting frustrated because I couldn't always read the display, I switched to this scale, and it is perfect, small, and easy to use.
These are just a few ides I've had. If you have questions, please reach out, and I will continue to add to the list throughout the season.
