Last week, I had a bit of a scratching throat and sniffly nose, so I thought I would make my Mom's chicken soup recipe.
We called it Fiddelini Soup, but if you look that up on the internet (with various spellings - my Mom spelled it Fiddeline), nothing comes up. Instead, I decided to look it up by the ingredients to see what it is really called, and that is Stracciatella Soup, but it will always be Fiddelini Soup for us.
It was the soup my Mom always made when we were sick. We have a wonderful family cookbook in which my Mom talks about her aunt making this for her when she came home from school or at lunch. So, there are a lot of family memories associated with this deliciously simple soup.
I've talked to friends, and they, too, remember having this soup as a kid. So, if you are craving some homemade comfort, have a stuffy nose, or want to start your own family tradition, give this a try.
